How Councils are responding, Newsletter from Julian Leeser MP.
Message from the President I
hope everyone is coping during this pandemic. Initially, like
some people, I struggled to change my behaviour, whether it was physical
distancing or simply touching items unnecessarily. Looking back,
everything has happened so quickly over the past month. For me, I
find walking in our surrounding bushland is good therapy. Those who have
mailed in your subscriptions, thank you of course, but we will delay
banking them until circumstances improve.
I have received some emails from various sources. If you haven’t
already received them, I believe they are worth sharing. They are listed
below.
If my memory is correct (it fails me sometimes) I read in a book that
the Spanish Flu arrived in Australia in 1919 with the returning WW1
soldiers. The pandemic was being contained in army barracks in Victoria
until one soldier, who was missing his family so much, went AWOL and
scarpered up to Sydney. The rest as they say ,is history. I’m
challenging my learned readers to either correct me or confirm my
assumptions. Best entry will be offered a position on the next Trust
committee.
Anyway, with Easter upon us please do not travel unnecessarily, keep safe and adhere to the guidelines.
